Bird species checklist
The species names, scientific names and species codes in Birdbrainz come from the eBird/Clements checklist, maintained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Birdbrainz bundles a curated subset of the checklist, the species commonly recorded in North America, rather than the full list, and reformats the records for the app. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology does not endorse Birdbrainz.
