Delete your account

You can delete your Birdbrainz account and its associated data at any time. Deletion is permanent: it removes your profile, posts, photos, comments, species-identification records, notification registrations, and sign-in identity.

In the app (immediate)

Open Profile → Settings → Delete account and confirm. Deletion takes effect immediately.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@birdbrainz.co with the subject line "Account deletion request".

• Send the request from the email address associated with your Birdbrainz account (the Google or Apple address you sign in with) — this is how we verify the request is really yours.
• We will confirm receipt and may reply to verify before deleting.
• Verified requests are completed within 30 days, and typically much sooner. You'll receive a confirmation when it's done.

If you signed in with Apple using a private relay address and can no longer access it, contact us anyway — we'll work out verification with you.

What is deleted, and what can remain

Everything listed above is permanently deleted. A few narrow exceptions can outlive deletion — routine server logs for a limited period, and a minimal non-identifying ban record if the account was banned for abuse — described in full in the Privacy Policy.
